03. Me
Michael Legrand
I am a UX Designer who is passionate yet pragmatic about solving problems from a user-centred perspective and creating exceptional online experiences that transform complicated matters into simple elegant digital solutions that are easy to use.
I have twenty years of experience designing digital media products. Nine of these years at the BBC's New Media Division in London, where I was part of the initial team of designers tasked with launching the BBC website on early mobile devices. The remainder of this period was spent as a startup co-founder and chief product designer, getting comfortable at wearing the many hats of design, technical and business development.
My skills encompass a broad spectrum from UX/UI design, front-end development in HTML, PHP, Wordpress and Javascript to digital marketing, public speaking, recruitment and management of an international volunteer abroad organization.
My global experience and diverse skill-set make me a multi-disciplined strategic designer who thrives in highly collaborative fast-paced environments. I am a self-starter, passionate about the ever-evolving design practices and always thriving to innovate and deliver smart customer-focused solutions that bridge the gap between business goals, design, technical implementation and stakeholder engagement.
Having lived internationally for the majority for my life I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in many different cultures and to learn several languages. This unique background makes me inquisitive, constantly craving to learn new things and always asking why -- three attributes that are central to any methodology that I apply to the projects assigned to me.
